Music as part of the journey

A Private Recital in Italy

Guests gather in a residence, close to the piano. The programme is chosen for them: a composer they love, a work they have never heard, music suited to the people in the room.

It is part of the journey through Italy.

The occasion shapes the music

A recital, a dinner, a celebration.

The programme is developed with the pianist around your occasion and musical interests.

A private recital

A complete programme for the people in the room. Familiar works can sit beside music that is rarely played. Listeners stay close to the piano. The evening may follow a composer or a period.

An evening around the table

A piano performance can form part of a private dinner, with the repertoire and timing planned around the evening.

A celebration with a personal soundtrack

A birthday, an anniversary, a wedding, a gathering of family. The programme can follow the occasion.

A personal arrangement

A piano arrangement for the occasion

A favourite song or film score can inspire a piano arrangement prepared especially for the occasion. The repertoire can also extend to Italian and international songs, film music and jazz, according to your interests and the occasion — subject to the artist’s assessment and preparation time.

The artist

Ludovico Troncanetti

An Italian concert pianist from Siena, Ludovico works principally in classical and Romantic repertoire, with a particular interest in rare and rediscovered Romantic works.

He has performed across Europe, Russia, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. His artistic collaborations include Leslie Howard — a long association in Romantic repertoire and virtuoso piano transcription — and Artur Pizarro. Together they recorded Camille Saint-Saëns: Music for Two Pianos for SOMM Recordings in 2024.

Biography

Originally from Siena, Ludovico graduated from the Conservatory of Milan, where he also studied composition with Gianni Possio. He continued with Pier Narciso Masi, Andrea Lucchesini and Henri Sigfridsson.

In 2009 he met Leslie Howard in London. He studied with him for several years and has performed alongside him internationally. Their work together continues, centred on Romantic repertoire and virtuoso piano transcription.

His playing takes in solo piano and piano-and-orchestra repertoire from the Baroque to the early twentieth century, with particular emphasis on the Classical and Romantic traditions.

Recordings include Anton Rubinstein’s Four Piano Sonatas, released with Amadeus in 2019, and the Variations, Op. 88, released with Suonare News in 2023.

The Italian Musical Imagination

Italian opera and instrumental writing heard at the piano, from salon pieces to virtuosic transcription. The repertoire may include Cimarosa, Clementi, Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi, Martucci and Puccini, and the passage from opera to the keyboard.

The Forgotten Romantics

Composers who once stood at the centre of European concert life and are rarely heard now: Rubinstein, Litolff, Henselt, Moszkowski, Scharwenka, MacDowell, Pabst, among others.

A Private Chopin Evening

Polish Romantic piano: Chopin, and, when it suits the evening, Paderewski and Moszkowski. Suited to a private salon, close to the instrument.
