Private journeys

Between the Adriatic, ancient olive groves and the south.

Puglia, at your own pace.

From the Adriatic to the Valle d’Itria and south towards Lecce, the journey is shaped around where you stay, how you move, what deserves time and what is better left out. OHH! ITALY designs the sequence. There is no catalogue itinerary to buy.

The Adriatic Coast

Begin where the land meets the sea.

Savelletri is a working harbour, not a promenade. Monopoli holds a walled old town and a working waterfront. Polignano a Mare sits on the cliff, its limestone cut by the water. The first days are for arrival, salt air and a base close enough to the coast that the sea remains part of the rhythm.

The Masseria Landscape

Olive groves and white stone.

Between the coast and the inland towns, the country is agricultural: dry-stone walls, courtyards, and estates that still read as working land. A masseria is not a theme. It is a fortified farm, later opened as a house for guests. The stay is the landscape — shade, distance from the road, and rooms that look onto groves rather than a street.

Valle d’Itria

White towns, selected architecture.

Ostuni rises as a pale hill. Cisternino and Locorotondo keep a quieter scale. Alberobello, whose trulli are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is used where it belongs — as architecture, not as a circuit. The day is walked, not collected.

Where we might base the journey

A different way to stay.

The coastal masseria

Masseria San Domenico is a historic house in the olive landscape of Savelletri: quieter in scale, with rooms that look onto groves rather than a street. Where the party is larger, and the days need to be held by the house itself, a village-scale stay such as Borgo Egnazia can be the better logic.

The town house

La Fiermontina Luxury Home sits in Lecce’s historic centre: a smaller house around a garden, useful when the journey turns from the countryside to the city.

Final houses depend on the traveller, the season and what can actually be held.

Adriatic · a private day on the water

Sea

A private Adriatic day.

A boat along the cliffs of Polignano and the coves toward Monopoli, timed to weather and harbour rules. Not a cruise. A few hours of water, stone and a table on the way back. Skippers and boats are independent operators; OHH! ITALY coordinates the day when it belongs to the journey.

Lecce

Baroque, walked after the heat.

Lecce is a city of worked stone. A specialist guide can open the architecture — Santa Croce, the Duomo square, the quieter streets — without turning the afternoon into a list. Evening is the point: shade, a table, and the city as it is used. After-hours access is requested only where it is actually granted. It is never assumed.

Some journeys continue south towards Otranto and the Salento coast. Others end in Lecce. The difference is pace, not a missed stop.

The Puglian table · a private evening

The Puglian Table

A private evening in the countryside or a masseria setting: local produce, oil, wine, candlelight and the place itself. The venue is not named in advance. OHH! ITALY designs it against the final house, the season and who is at the table. It is a meal with a room around it — not an activity to book.

A journey shaped around you

Built from scratch. About a week, sometimes more.

Seven to ten nights is a useful length: enough for the coast, the inland towns and a southern pause. The chapters above are a geography, not a day-by-day. Cooking in a private kitchen, a tasting at a small estate, ceramics or stone workshops, a specialist in Lecce — each is added only when it belongs, and only subject to permission and availability.

What is left out

A private journey is shaped through selection, sequence and pace — not by fitting every possible place into the itinerary.

Arrival is through Bari or Brindisi, timed to the first house.

Private concierge

Puglia, shaped around you.

There is no fixed package. Share dates, who is travelling, how you like to stay, and how private the days should feel. OHH! ITALY answers with a proposal — houses, movement, table and pace — then coordinates the journey.
