Private Venice & Dolomites Journey

From the lagoon to the high mountains, one privately coordinated line of travel. Venice is handled quietly. The Dolomites are given room.

A commissioned itinerary

A Journey of Their Own.

OHH! ITALY designs tailor-made travel as one itinerary, then coordinates the parts that itinerary needs. This brief asked for Venice and the Dolomites in the same sequence: private water taxis at either end of the lagoon day, a walk of about ninety minutes with a local guide, an hour on a traditional wooden boat, then a chauffeured road north with room left to stop.

The plan was accepted for two guests. It is not a group departure and not a catalogue package. The films on this page are from the studio library; they illustrate Venice, Misurina, Braies, Cortina, Passo Giau and the Cinque Torri — they are not footage of this journey.

A different party would start from their own dates, pace and level of hosting.

Venice

Water first, then the quieter corners.

The city is kept light. Private water taxis cover the crossings that should stay simple: the arrival and the departure between the lagoon and the road, so luggage is not a project at the end of the day. Landing points are confirmed with the boat before the transfer is promised. Until then, the transfer is an arrangement in progress, not a completed booking.

When a closer introduction belongs in the brief, OHH! ITALY adds a private walk of about an hour and a half through quieter neighbourhoods, with an English-speaking local guide, and about an hour on a traditional Venetian wooden boat. The walk is about corners, courtyards, and the working city, not a list of monuments. The boat is unhurried, and it ends when the hour does.

Those Venice chapters sit around the guests’ own time in the city. They are coordinated. They are not a sightseeing circuit, and they depend on the guide, the boat, and the tide of the day.

Toward Cortina

North, by the lakes.

The road leaves Venice on the A27, then follows the Alemagna through the Boite valley. The point of the day is the landscape, not the mileage. In the accepted 2027 plan the pauses are Lake Misurina, a viewpoint in the Landro Valley, and Lago di Braies.

From the Landro Valley the Tre Cime di Lavaredo can be seen without a demanding hike. That is the stop in this plan. A full day walking toward Rifugio Locatelli would replace the lakes, and it was not part of the accepted sequence. It can be drawn as a different journey. It is not hidden inside this one.

Lake Misurina is reached over Passo Tre Croci. Lago di Braies lies further north, through Dobbiaco. In summer the lake is regulated. Access for 2027 is confirmed before that stop is promised. Lunch can be suggested by the local host along the way. A table is not assumed, and a meal is not described here as included.

Two nights

Cortina, and a host who stays.

Two nights in Cortina d’Ampezzo give the journey a still point. The town is where the roads return. Evenings can stay simple: a walk on the corso, dinner if it is wanted, and an early night before the passes.

The accepted 2027 plan places two nights in alpine accommodation in the Cortina d’Ampezzo area, chosen for this sequence rather than as a standing house hotel. Final confirmation belongs to the property. OHH! ITALY holds the conversation; the hotel provides the room.

For the mountain days the same chauffeur is also the local host: one Mercedes-Benz V-Class, one person at the wheel, room for two guests and their luggage, and the freedom to lengthen a stop without calling anyone else. For a scenic, unhurried brief, that hosting is often enough. Guests who want a closer level of assistance can ask for VIP support around the same itinerary.

The mountain day

Passo Giau and the Cinque Torri.

The second mountain day climbs to Passo Giau and across to the Cinque Torri. The chairlift is the easy way onto the panoramic ground: a short walk among the towers, not a technical route. Passo Falzarego can be added if the day still has room. Weather and the lift decide. The host adjusts the order without rebuilding the journey.

The walking is meant to stay gentle. Anyone who wants a longer trail, or a guide who teaches the geology, can add that. It is a separate request. It is not required to make this day work.

The way back

A direct return, and room to change pace.

The return to Venice is direct. The accepted plan does not add another sightseeing stop on the way down, unless the guests ask for one. The same car and the same host keep the ending as quiet as the start.

Pacing stays flexible throughout. A viewpoint can be left early. A lunch can run long. The day is not sold as a timetable. Discreet logistics are the layer underneath: arrivals, the car, the handovers, and the timing, held as one operation rather than a stack of separate bookings.

The studio

What OHH! ITALY coordinates.

  • The order of the days, and the decision to leave space in them.
  • Private water taxis in Venice, once the landing points are known.
  • A private guided walk and a traditional wooden boat, when that chapter is included.
  • A Mercedes-Benz V-Class with chauffeur and local host for the Dolomites days.
  • The scenic sequence, including the Cinque Torri chairlift when it is part of the plan.
  • The conversation with the hotel, while the property remains responsible for the room.
  • One point of contact before the journey and while it is underway.

Quoted separately

What is shaped again each time.

Meals beyond what a hotel includes, regulated entries that have not yet been verified for the season, a dedicated high-route hiking day, a specialist guide, and any stay the guests have arranged on their own. Each of those is quoted when it is actually wanted.

Exclusive use of an entire hotel is a different brief. OHH! ITALY coordinates private hotel and resort buyouts when a group needs the property to itself. This journey is a private stay inside a working hotel, not a buyout.

A winter week in the same mountains is its own design, set out in the private ski journey in the Dolomites. Nothing on this page is a fixed public price. How a journey is shaped begins with a conversation.
